Face shape notes before a paper mask fitting
Face shape notes before a paper mask fitting
Our community craft session includes making paper masks, and I am revising the worksheet we use before cutting the templates. A generic template is convenient, but its outline does not tell us where an individual mask may need extra room. I am considering a short explanation of face shapes as background for that worksheet. I would keep this separate from actual measurements, because a category cannot tell us whether the paper piece will sit comfortably. We could note the widest part of the face and the jaw outline before deciding which template edges to redraw. The paper versions will be tested before decoration, leaving time to change the edges without wasting paint or other materials. The worksheet needs an option for a mixed outline, since forcing a single category would add confusion to the practical task. People can choose a stylized final mask, but I want their starting notes to be clear enough for useful adjustments. Which parts of the face outline would you ask participants to note before they begin adjusting a basic paper template?
